Monday, April 30
Portfolio Prep: Students will continue to roll quilled pieces of construction paper, placing them into the designated color areas.
Advanced Photography: Students will continue to work on their Photojournalism Power point.
Intro to Art: Sculptures will be coated with paint and attached to their pedestals.
Advanced Pottery: Continued handbuilding - Footed Vessels.
Pottery: Surface embellishment to slab houses.

Monday, April 23
Portfolio Prep: Continue coiling construction paper into a mixture of tightly rolled and loosely rolled quills. Apply glue to the tab end of the construction paper. Glue down to chipboard according to the different value changes.
Advanced Photography: Work on new Photojournalism assignment - documenting the life at North Schuylkill.
Intro to Art: Apply found objects with glue gun, creating a visible and interesting texture on the surface of the sculpture.
Advanced Pottery: Continue handbuilding footed vessels/paint morphed animals with acrylic paint.
Pottery: Create & cut out stencils, using drawing paper. Roll out slabs and cut using the stencils. Place a paper towel in between each slab layer and wrap in plastic to dry.

Tuesday, April 24

Pottery: Create & cut out stencils, using drawing paper. Roll out slabs and cut using the stencils. Place a paper towel in between each slab layer and wrap in plastic to dry. Begin to assemble slab houses, remind students to properly attach bodies of clay by using the slip & score method.

Portfolio Prep: Glue black construction paper onto the tag board and trim to size. Measure out and grid board to 3" squares. Printed image should be measured 8x6 - grid accordingly.
Advanced Photography: Continue work on Photojournalism assignment.
Intro to Art: Continue to apply plastercraft to wire armature. Once complete, sand and coat 2x with gesso. Let dry in between each coat by laying wet sculpture onto the radiator vents.

Thursday, April 12
Portfolio Prep: Students will download and alter photographic images (posterize tool, color changes) using Photoshop. Save changes and print out.
Advanced Photography: Open class discussion on photojournalism. What exactly is Photojournalism? How does it differ from regular photography?
Intro to Art: Class will be wrapping their wire armatures with a plaster cast. Once done, sand and 2 coats of Gesso need to be applied.
Advanced Pottery: Students are continuing to work (handbuilding) on footed vessels.
Pottery: Students are researching artist David Stabley and sketching thumbnails for their curved slab houses. Students who have not completed glazing their pinch pots will finish up the final coats.
Friday, April 13
Portfolio Prep: Graph image to fit onto 18x24" paper (no boarders). Begin to transfer image over.
Advanced Photography: Students are to continue working on Photojournalism Activities and Practical Assignment.
Intro to Art: Class will be wrapping their wire armatures with a plaster cast. Once done, sand and 2 coats of Gesso need to be applied.
Advanced Pottery:Students are continuing to work (handbuilding) on footed vessels.

Intro to Art: Students will continue to work on creating wire armatures. Those students who have their armatures completed will stuff with newspaper and wrap with aluminum foil and masking tape.
Advanced Pottery: Students will continue on their footed vessel set.
Pottery: Students will continue to work on facial expressions - using additive and subtractive sculpture - for their Face Jugs.
