Tuesday, August 26
Beginning Drawing:Students will create a 10x2 reference of a value scale. 10 values in all will be represented.
Portfolio Prep:Students will create a 10x2 reference of a value scale. 10 values in all will be represented.
Foundations of Art:Students will each create a personal folder to keep their artwork/classwork safe.
Introduction to Art:Students will each create a personal folder to keep their artwork/classwork safe.
Sculpture:Introduction of Bas Relief sculpture. PowerPoint shown with examples. First lesson introduced - Balsa Foam Relief Carving.
Digital Photography:Basic introduction to "Traditional Photography" notes. Camera assignments.

Wednesday, August 27
Beginning Drawing:Continuation of 10x2 value scale. Due Friday.
Portfolio Prep:Continuation of 10x2 value scale. Due Friday.
Foundations of Art:Class Meeting
Introduction to Art:Group Activity - Drawing Chairs. As a class discuss what was learned from the activity.
Sculpture:Completed introduction to first assignment. Students are completing 3 thumbnail sketches of their chosen culture.
Digital Photography:PowerPoint/handouts History of Photography.

Thursday, August 28
Beginning Drawing:Continuation of 10x2 value scale. Due Friday.
Portfolio Prep:Begin drawing still life onto 18x24" drawing paper. Placement is asymmetrical utilizing a one inch border around.
Foundations of Art:Review of Elements and Principles, worksheet.
Introduction to Art:PowerPoint on Interpreting Art. Group activity.
Sculpture:Students are continuing to work on 3 thumbnail sketches in chosen culture.
Digital Photography:Review shutter speed, ISO, & f stops. PowerPoint & student notes.

Friday, August 29
Beginning Drawing:Pre-instruction drawings. Class is to complete 3 drawings in their sketchbooks (self-portrait ,object in the room (contour line)& their hand (blind contour), having 12 minutes to do each. Reflection follows.
Portfolio Prep:Students are to continue work on still life.
Foundations of Art:Pre-instruction drawings.
Introduction to Art:Students will complete group activity.
Sculpture:Students are to complete work on thumbnail sketches & finalize on one.
Digital Photography:Review for Camera Functions Quiz
